Led by a Māori Educator, your students will have a unique opportunity to learn about Māori culture and heritage though interactive experiences, song and story-telling. 

1.5 hours of fun learning - an introduction to Māori Culture


  • Play stick games and poi (great for hand-eye coordination and team-building)
  • Get hands-on with cultural objects
  • Waiata (song) 
  • Story-telling - hear a traditional Māori story 
  • Learn a Māori greeting 

What's Included?

  • All equipment and materials included and brought to your centre for this cultural workshop. 
  • Full compliance verification and documentation.
  • A Resource Kit which includes ideas for post-incursion activities (e.g how to make poi), lyric sheets and links to music in case you'd like to have a go at any of the activities with your class after the incursion.

Haka workshops
