This interactive program explores Te Ao Mฤori - โ€˜way of lifeโ€™ in Mฤori society, including social, cultural, economic and political features. Linking past to present, this interactive incursion brings the vibrancy of Mฤori culture, heritage and history to your school. 

Students will develop understanding of Mฤori heritage, culture and history including Tikanga (cultural protocols), Mฤori migration from Hawaiiki and settlement of Aotearoa (New Zealand), trade and resource management (sustainability). Interactive activities include poi and stick games.

Your students will hear a Mฤori legend, get hands-on with natural resources, games and 'taonga' (treasured objects), listen to Te Reo (Mฤori language) spoken and learn how to hongi.

NEW - Haka workshops 

Due to popular demand, Haka workshops are also available for classes that have already experienced a Mฤori incursion!  Children will learn a haka, and develop understanding of how and why HAKA are performed.
