Years 7-12 (secondary)

This incursion explores Te Ao Mฤori - โ€˜way of lifeโ€™ in Mฤori society, including social, cultural, economic and political features. Students will develop understanding of Mฤori heritage, culture and history through interactive activities, story telling and opportunities for Q and A. 

Led by a Mฤori Educator, your students will have a unique opportunity to learn about Mฤori culture and heritage though interactive experiences, song  (waita) and story-telling.

  • Story-telling - hear a traditional Mฤori story 
  • Learn a Mฤori greeting 

What's Included?

  • All equipment and materials included and brought to your centre for this cultural workshop. 
  • Full compliance verification and documentation.
  • A Resource Kit which includes ideas for post-incursion activities (e.g how to make poi), lyric sheets and links to music in case you'd like to have a go at any of the activities with your class after the incursion.

Haka workshops

  • Available for classes who have previously experienced a Mฤori incursion
  • Students will learn a haka, and develop understanding of how and why Haka are performed

Bookings for more than 50 children
